How to Make money online in uganda

There has never been an easier time for Ugandans to make money online than in 2025. Regardless of one's skill set, there is literally something to suit every one. From the comfort of your phone, you can do work that is highly flexible and can be performed on the go, or in between your regular job or studies.

Nonetheless it's important to remember that there is no such thing as "get rich quick." Anybody or website that promises you the ability to make money in the shortest amount of time is most likely a scam. To make a considerable amount of money, you need to ensure you put your research and expertise to work, just like with any other job.

With all that in mind, below is a list of 5 of the best opportunities that enable you to make money from home, according to research and analysis of sites including Upwork and Shopify.

1. Dropshipping

Dropshipping is a good way of making money in your free time at home whether you're a student or employed because of its convenience in selling products without opening up a shop while paying extra charges like rent. Most people set up a stores on platforms like Spotify, but I found a better alternative since little to no Ugandans buy products from online shopping platforms.

All you need to do is open a TikTok (any social media) account and start making content about anything you prefer. You can either begin by posting the products you're selling or build a platform with a different form of content and then start selling to your audience once you've gained a substantial amount of followers.

You can buy your products from Local stores. But inorder to make more profits with high class products, you can buy your items from online Wholesale and retail services like Temu, AliExpress and Ali baba.

I personally recommend AliExpress because I'm more familiar with it because of its fast delivery services.

Summary:

  • Create or use an existing social media platform like TikTok or Facebook to attain a substantial amount of audience.

  • Buy products of your choice ie (clothes, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, etc) then advertise them on your own accounts.

  • Take orders and make your deliveries as fast as possible.

4. Become a social media influencer.

With more than half of the global population having social media accounts, not forgetting the fact that majority of young people in Uganda have social media accounts, it would be a great opportunity if one decided to become a social media influencer.

Influencers make money of the fact that they have an impact on society (social media users) and that's because they've alot of followers, make great content that people never stop watching and never want to miss.

So, to begin with, you need is a strong passion or interest, and your personality. Create a unique personal brand on a platform such as YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram, and as your follower count grows, your social media presence and social capital will become more valuable to brands, businesses and individuals looking to partner with you.

If you're actually serious with it, this whole scheme can change your entire life in a short period of time.

3. Become a content creator.

Not so different from becoming a social media influencer, content creation is another way to make money either as a side hustle or full-time depending on your financial situation.

The idea of making content is so broad that everyone can actually do it. You might not be that funny dude who records himself saying or doing funny stuff to gain 1 million views on TikTok, but you could be good at video editing, video games, writing etc.

The goal here is to figure out something you feel so confident doing and then making money while doing it.

I personally run TikTok and Instagram accounts where i simply clip and edit music videos then post them on these platforms and I've gained +300k followers and +5million likes.

And you might ask, how do I make money?

Well, I make money through paid promotions because I built a global audience where my content get shown on global feeds. So artists (mostly from USA & UK) reach out to me to get their songs posted on my account and I charge them $15 - $30 per post while making $150 - $250 per month off social media promotions.

2. Get paid for posting on social media.

Literally, there is no difference between becoming a content creator and getting paid for posting since the goal is very similar. But I separated these two because in my opinion, a meme account on X (formerly Twitter ) or Smoovehub is not the same as a TikTok or YouTube account depending on the effort and time required to make content. And that's why "getting paid for posting" sounds so easy because it's so damn easy.

Platform like X (formerly twitter) and SmooveHub pay their users for simply posting anything on their platforms.

So that sounds like a good start for someone who's lazy or doesn't have a lot of time to record and edit videos.

And by the way, smoovehub.com is a Ugandan based platform where eligible registered users get paid for writing articles and posting anything on their platform.

  1. Trading

Trading is the best side hustle (in my opinion) after 2 years of trying it. While it seems hard and confusing in the beginning, things can become easier if you invest enough time practicing with demo accounts before you try trading with real money.

The best and legit trading broker for Ugandans ( in my opinion) is exness because of its convenience since you can deposit and withdraw your funds via mobile/Airtel money.

The trading world is so fun and full of lavish lifestyles (some fake while others are legit) so don't fall for the "get rich quick" myth surrounding the trading industry because while its true that trading can change lives, it can destroy them too. So, invest enough time learning and practicing with demo accounts before trading with real money.

If you think that trading is something you would consider then try and receive $10,000 in virtual funds and learn how to trade with a market leader https://one.exnesstrack.org/a/windopatcp?platform=mobile&pid=mobile_share

Boosting your income online isn't at all difficult to achieve. With your internet and smartphone you can develop new skills, share them with the world, and make more money in the process.
